The chef treats his food with respect, and he develops relationships with local farmers, and you can taste the difference in the dynamic flavours. You can tell that cooking is an act of pride, love and passion for the chef.
Ten in Toronto is aptly named, it gets a 10/10 for me.

Planta Restaurant :: Toronto

Planta in Toronto is a great option for vegetarians and healthy eaters, but it doesn’t cater to this group exclusively. I don’t fall in those categories and I enjoy eating there. It is just an amazing alternative with tasty food, in a pleasant setting in a great Yorkville-area location.

El Celler de Can Roca :: Girona, Spain

I was impressed with the level of technical precision, and the elaborate, complex dishes. But was I blown away? Was each dish brilliant? Unfortunately, neither was not the case for me. Of the 22 small bites, I would say 4-5 were standouts. The rest were merely good. There were was a lot of theatrical value, flavour explosions and original dishes.

Impero Cafeé :: New York (NOW CLOSED)

It is Scott Conant’s pastas that remind you of why he became famous in the first place. His Pasta Pomodoro is a signature dish. Such simple ingredients but it is the best tomato pasta you might ever have.

Flock, Rotisserie and Greens :: Toronto

This is what people want – superfood ingredients, vibrant dressings, chicken that is locally-sourced and cooked well in an efficient amount of time. Presto, Cory Vitello has a hit on his hands with more locations to come.

The Grill at Bal Harbour :: Miami

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at The Grill at Bal Harbour – situated on the second floor of the mall, just up the escalators and straight to the back. I suggest making reservations now that everyone has discovered the restaurant.

Of course everyone wants to try The French Laundry at least once in your life. So go ahead, beg your concierge or use a connection to try and get you in. We have been twice and I wouldn’t go back again.

Piripi Restaurant :: Coral Gables, Miami (NOW CLOSED)

Piripi is Merrick Park’s newest eatery. It reminded me of an upscale Bar Isabel from Toronto. But the decor, service and quality of food is better.
