A 30-second walk from Rome’s most intact, historical monument, the Pantheon, is Armando Al Pantheon a third generation restaurant at Salita de Crescenzi 31. From its humble origins to a treasured, cozy trattoria, we were truly pleased and seduced with this classic, traditional gem. It has been renovated but still retains that old world timeless charm.

The menu sticks to tried and true Roman items, like cacio e pepe, pasta all gricia, with pecorino cheese and pork cheeks, as well as amazing eggplant Parmesan and meat classics. The food is authentic, the reception is warm, and you get good value here. It was busy with locals as well as tourists.

Would I come back when I return to Rome? Most definitely – for simple, classic Roman food, using fresh ingredients, that are capably prepared. This is food you can eat every day. Recommend.

Happy dining,
Shanea
