We really enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Pinch Kitchen located at 8601 Biscayne Blvd. Telephone: 305-631-2018. It has been a while since I have been excited about a new restaurant …

The Chefs John Gallo and Rene Reyes have a wonderful provenance. They cooked together at Casa Tua. Then they both cooked at Barceloneta and L’ Echon Brasserie for the Pubbelly group.

Now they have opened this delightful homey, quaint and cozy little restaurant.
You can tell they cook with passion as it shines through in all the well-cooked and flavorful dishes.

We started with wonderful fresh figs wrapped in crispy speck. Then we had some great Peruvian corvina ceviche with corn, red onion, and homemade yucca chips.
Next we tried the risotto with a a lovely variety of exotic mushrooms.

For our main course we had the crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside Scottish salmon with a fennel confit and charred scallions in a beurre blanc sauce which was light and delicious. We also had the day’s special which was beef tenderloin with brussel sprouts and creamed cauliflower. It was so tender and cooked perfectly.

We washed this down with a great reasonably priced Rosé. You can also bring your own wine for a $20 corkage fee.

For dessert there were only two offerings. A chocolate orange soufflé. The soufflé was inside a carved-out orange and there was a side of creme anglaise. We also tried a dish I never would have tried in a million years. The bubba rum cake with thyme ice cream. I am not a lover of thyme or rum but the cake had such subtle flavours. My husband said it was like a Dunken Hines cake on steroids. I don’t know about that, but it was very good.

They call the cooking, “freestyle American cooking”.
“A pinch of this and a pinch of that”.

The staff couldn’t be friendlier. Our server Natalie took excellent care of us and was so knowledgable about every dish.

They are open every day except Monday’s and Sunday night. They also serve lunch and weekend brunch. The menu looks fantastic. I have to come back for brunch for the pasta and the hamburger with a fried egg on top and the French toast.
This place is a winner that puts heart and soul into their food.

Highly recommended.

Happy dining,
Shanea
