Tucked away in a little strip plaza in Aventura Florida at 18685 W Dixie Hwy in Miami, is a casual, unassuming and cozy little spot called Tania’s Table. Specializing in quality home cooking, they incorporate flavours of Latin, Mediterranean, and Caribbean cuisine. There is no fixed menu – every day the menu changes depending on what they are making that day. There are also daily specials, as well as a different soup du jour. From what I understand, it was originally owned by someone else, but the current owners welcome you as if you were guests in their home. You can sit at one of the few tables indoor or outside, or order takeout. Part of the kitchen is open and you can see Joyce, wünderbaker and pastry chef, creating some fabulous breads, cookies, and cakes. The restaurant is kosher-style but by no means Glatt kosher. They use kosher meats in their preparations, but they also serve dairy desserts. There are also some healthy options which I like. There are some heavier Latin options as well.

They provide catering for special events. If you go on a Thursday or Friday you will get a chance to try Joyce’s challahs. We’ve had the guava and the Nutella. This special recipe is from the first owner, Tania, and it has been in the hands of this new family-owned business for 2 years now.

The restaurant is only open from 11:30-4:30pm. Free parking is available in the plaza.
If you are looking for a charming, cozy restaurant with good home-cooked food, or prepared foods to go, then look no further.

Happy dining,
Shanea
