UPDATE: December 2017 – Via Verdi is no longer recommended.

March 21, 2014 Review:
We had the pleasure of eating at Via Verdi and we were impressed with the food as well as the warm welcome from the Carro brothers and their staff. A special shout out to Fabrizio who really made our dinner very special with his meal suggestions and conversation.

We are fortunate to travel to Italy each year so I guess you can say we are jaded when it comes to good Italian restaurants. We decided to give this charming restaurant a try not knowing anything about it or anyone who had tried it. The food was outstanding, from the homemade breads to the veal meatballs, Octopus on a chick pea puree (yum), fantastic homemade pasta with wild boar and wonderful eggplant parmesan. Fabrizio recommended a delicious dessert as well. We washed it all down with a glass of Rose Planenta. This is a wine that is hard to find in North America, especially by the glass. There were so many other choices that looked wonderful. We will just have to keep going back to work through the menu. Grazie!!!

December 25, 2015 Review:
It is not easy to find a restaurant open on Christmas day. The staff is still warm and friendly as ever. Tonight we had some Burrata with Prosciutto which was very good. I had homemade pasta with butter and shavings of fresh white truffles…OMG!!! This would be my final meal if ever given the choice. The special of short rib on Polenta was extremely salty. The Chicken Milanese was wonderfully crisp and buttery. The Tagliolini Alba with mushrooms and parmesan truffle sauce was a poor man’s version of my dish but was still delicious. The Vongole was good but not amazing.
It is not the prettiest restaurant, it is not trendy or cool, but it is a great neighborhood place with authentic Italian cooking. We enjoyed a simple bottle of Il Bruciato, Antinori, a Cabernet Sauvignon from Tuscany, which is priced well at $53.

For dessert we enjoyed the Bunet which is a Piedmontese chocolate desert flan with Amaretti and caramel sauce.

For your information, every Monday year round the restaurant’s food menu is offered at half price except for the small Assagi (small plates).

For a simple, casual and delicious meal, you can’t go wrong.
