If you or someone you know is a sugar aficionado, you need to check out The Candy Bar at 849 College Street West, just west of Ossington. I was so happy to discover this tiny spot while strolling on College Street. It has actually been open for 3 1/2 years. Owner Paola Giavedoni has a passion and enthusiasm for all things sweet, and she’s knowledgeable about all her products that she has personally sourced for her shop. You can be any age to appreciate this place. The shop carries a playful cornucopia of imported candies and chocolates from around the globe. Paola has one wall dedicated to Canadian handcrafted artisanal chocolates, many of which are award-winning. Opposite this wall, she carries chocolates from around the world. Bulk candy is also offered and you will think you walked into Willy Wonka’s candy factory when you see her assortment and selections, it is a visual joy. Gummies, rock candy, lollipops, Dutch chocolates, bonbons, gum balls, toffee, Swedish berries, Jube Jubes, jelly beans, and on and on. I saw all sorts of candies from my youth plus some new ones that I have never tried. I got to sample a few items and found everything to be fresh tasting and not stale.

They have partnered with Foodora and you can have candies delivered to your door if you are in the delivery area. They are packaged in these adorable Chinese takeout boxes accompanied with chopsticks. They can also make up special gift baskets. The shop also does parties, corporate events, and weddings.

They have candy sourced from the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, South America as well as other countries.

The Candy Bar is one of the best sources of candy and chocolate in Toronto. They offer unique treats you won’t find elsewhere. They offer a wide range of sugary delights, and you don’t have to be a kid to love these sweet thrills and yummy goodness. It is overwhelming but I guarantee the shop will delight.

Recommended.

Happy Eating,
Shanea
