We just finished a marvelous stay of 5 nights at Claridges. The common rooms of the hotel are magnificent. We experienced High Tea which was a treat. However at 74 pounds it becomes exceedingly expensive once you do the conversion. Room service arrives promptly.
Everyone makes an effort to call you by name. The rooms really vary in size and décor. I was able to see many rooms as we were there with friends for a wedding. I would suggest seeing a few before accepting just any room. I found our deluxe king on the small side, but it was nicely appointed. Unfortunately our room only had one sink and no bidet. The toilet was difficult to flush. We had to pump it several times. We did complain but I guess they can’t fix that problem. It is an old hotel after all. Some of our friends had new Toto toilets in their rooms.
The room had nice welcome treats when we arrived. We were also given a going away gift when we left today as well. We were fortunate to be able to experience a wedding here and I must say the service was outstanding and it also had the best food I have ever had at a wedding. Bravo! You can’t beat the location. You are close to Bond St, which has some of the city’s best shops and galleries nearby. Oxford, Saville Row, Mount St. and Picadilly. You could visit Selfridges, Fortnum and Mason, and you could even walk to the Theatre in 15 minutes.
It is extremely expensive, so not for the faint of heart.
Highly recommended …
