My love affair with grilled cheese started in my early childhood. That is why I would seek out the Ms. Cheezious food truck seen around Miami and Wynwood the last several years. It was voted best food truck in Miami for many years. So, when I heard they were getting a brick and mortar establishment at 7418 Biscayne Blvd. I was quite ecstatic. They opened a cute space across from the Vagabond Hotel. It only has three parking spaces up front so you may have to park a block or two away, which is not a bad idea considering how fattening these sandwiches are. They are open daily from 11am till 11 pm.
Now I can sit down and enjoy a great grilled cheese eating either inside or out back in a lovely courtyard. There is even more choices at the restaurant then at their truck. I opted for a Brie and Apple sandwich on sour dough bread (upgrading from Havarti cheese), and my husband tried the Patty Melt which consisted of Chuck, Brisket and Pimento cheese. I have to say his sandwich was way too salty for both of us. Some other choices on the menu are a Pesto and cheese, a Crab and Cheese Melt, Goat Cheese and Prosciutto, a Short Rib melt, and so on. They even had a S’mores melt, but we were too full to try it. They also serve some basic wines and have craft beers and flavoured teas.
You can build your own with your choice of bread, cheese, and add ons, like tomatoes, bacon etc.
They will loan you a board game and you can go out back with your game, your sandwich, fries and a brewsky. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon. Kid friendly too.
