We tried a new restaurant in the Yonge and Davisville area called Little Sister. It is an Indonesian/ Dutch inspired restaurant. I am no expert on Indonesian food but everything we ordered was delicious! The restaurant gets high marks for having rich and complex flavours. Every dish is a small plate and items are meant to be shared (tapas style). The place is a narrow grungy looking restaurant. It is something you would expect to see on Ossington or in the West Village in New York.
I enjoyed my pineapple pisco sour, we tried the shrimp salad roll, the Nasi Goreng (fried rice) which is a bit on the spicy side. The roast pork belly was good and the coconut curried shrimp was excellent. We also enjoyed the sweet chili roasted chicken, which was very tender on the inside and charred on the outside.
The two choices for dessert were not great, so in the future, I would prefer to cross the street and go to Gelato for some ice cream. Dinner for two with a beer and cocktail came to $90 before tip.
Recommended.
Happy dining,
Shanea
