There are plenty of beautiful restaurants in Miami, but many fall short regarding great food and service. One standout exception is the newly opened Claudie Restaurant at 1101 Brickell Avenue. It seems to check all the right boxes—stunning decor? Check. A delicious French-Mediterranean menu? Check. Attentive, friendly service? Check.

Run by the Riviera Dining Group, I initially had my reservations, especially since I’m not a fan of Mila and I’m unfamiliar with their other establishments.

Claudie is an exception—perhaps influenced by founder Gregory Gala’s South of France upbringing and his commitment to perfection. It stands out as one of Miami’s most stunning restaurants, where every detail is meticulously curated. The interior combines natural elements like wicker, wood, clay, stone, and marble with striking artworks and sculptures. Dim lighting and expansive fixtures create the ambiance of dining under the sun, while lush greenery and fruit trees enhance the space.

The indoor dining area is elegantly formal, featuring white tablecloths accented with terracotta and green hues, and a large mural that serves as a captivating backdrop. An open kitchen in the rear adds a dynamic element, showcasing the culinary artistry at work. Even the bathrooms are thoughtfully designed, with attention given to the floors, walls, and lighting—complete with an elegant hostess to guide you.

Outdoors, the experience remains unforgettable. A grand fountain sits at the center, complemented by a retractable striped roof to guard against inclement weather and a chic hostess stand where staff dress in classic French style. Nightly live music begins at 7 p.m., with a DJ energizing the intermissions.

At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Michael Michaelidis, whose experience in the legendary kitchens of Le Louis XV, Alain Ducasse, and Joel Robuchon ensures that every dish is a testament to French culinary excellence. From seafood towers and tableside gazpacho to lobster linguini, steak and frites, branzino carpaccio, and sublime escargot, Claudie offers a rare blend of chic ambiance and outstanding cuisine. The curated selection of French wines and cocktails complements the menu perfectly—though the cocktails are modest in size and are expertly crafted. And when it comes to dessert, Claudie upholds the French tradition, delighting diners with offerings like lavender crème brûlée, the Tropezian, and a heavenly chocolate mousse.

Though the pricing is on the higher side—a common trait among many Miami restaurants—and noise levels can sometimes be challenging, not to mention a $25 valet fee, Claudie is poised to become your new favorite French dining destination. Watch out, LPM—a new contender has arrived. Recommended.

Happy dining,

Shanea
