Shanea’s Favourite tried and true restaurants:

In no particular order...

  1. Elastika: Miami’s most beautiful restaurant serving eclectic dishes, in the Design District.
  2. Vice Versa: a great aperitivo bar by the Jaguar Sun group.
  3. Tam Tam: Vietnamese restaurant in downtown Miami.
  4. Ghee Indian Kitchen: I will drive anywhere for chef Niven Patel’s modern Indian cooking, but thankfully he is opening a second outpost in Wynwood, coming soon.
  5. La Natural: still makes my favourite sourdough crust pizza.
  6. Boia De: Michelin starred casual Italian eatery.
  7. Walrus and Rodeo: same owners as Boia De, and create delicious woodfire cuisine.
  8. Entre Nos: I discovered this gem last year and was not surprised when they received a Michelin star, serving local and seasonal cuisine.
  9. Palma: it is worth the drive to Little Havana for this culinary gem with an ever-changing 7-course tasting menu.
  10. Tambourine Room: My go-to place for special occasions. A Michelin-star fine dining, 18-seat beautiful room, serving French cuisine with Asian influences.
  11. Stubborn Seed: It has been on this list every year I’ve been doing it. Michelin star chef Jeremy Ford creates modern, contemporary seasonal American dishes that I love.
  12. Motek: easy, fast, and delicious Israeli and Mediterranean food, now with several locations.
  13. Maccialina: serving delicious rustic Italian food
  14. Portosole: Italian in Coral Gables.
  15. Fiola: Michelin-worthy Italian in Coral Gables, with a great wine list.
  16. Bellini: Italian restaurant in Coconut Grove with good food and beautiful views.
  17. Neya: best modern kosher restaurant in Miami.
  18. Avra: stunning Greek/Mediterranean restaurant in Sunny Isles, when I’m craving fresh fish and seafood.
  19. Eating House: modern Miami cuisine in Coral Gables.
  20. Klaw: I know it is a steakhouse, but they have the best crab I have ever tasted.
  21. Ushi: I’m not usually a fan of a chain restaurant, but they offer elevated, nontraditional Japanese cuisine that is consistently good.
  22. Cote: Michelin-starred Korean steakhouse in the Design District.
  23. Maas: Michelin-starred restaurant that I will drive to Ft. Lauderdale for. Inside the Four Seasons hotel, they serve a la carte or excellent tasting menus of contemporary American cuisine.
  24. The Katherine: another Ft. Lauderdale favourite by chef Timon Balloo, serving a global and eclectic menu.
  25. Sereia: a modern seafood-forward restaurant inspired by the Iberian Coast, in Coconut Grove.
  26. Kyu: so happy they are back.
  27. Perl: an Aventura institution.
  28. Miami Slice: great pies if you don’t mind standing in line.
