Nestled on a tranquil yet-to-be-developed street in the Wynwood area, Ossobuco is a newly unveiled spot that has graced the neighborhood at the close of the summer of 2023. Situated at 62 NW 27th Street, this place is a carnivore’s paradise, spotlighting premium cuts of meat masterfully prepared over an open flame. Complementing these proteins are thoughtfully prepared, organic, and seasonal vegetables.

Step into Ossobuco, and you will be greeted by a friendly staff and an alluring ambiance characterized by lofty ceilings, expansive booths, and well-spaced tables. Adorned with wooden tables, blue velvet banquets, and polished concrete floors the space exudes a sophisticated charm. A sizable bar at the back beckons, while a romantically dim-lit patio invites those seeking an intimate setting. An open kitchen allows diners to witness the culinary magic as the chefs grill their chosen meats or fish.

At the forefront of the restaurant, refrigerators dry age the meats and fish, while wines are tastefully displayed throughout, accompanied by preserved jars of vegetables. Chef and grill master Guillermo Eleicegui infuses creativity into every dish, emphasizing a commitment to quality produce.

Ossobuco’s menu is divided into “Vegetables” featuring items like burrata with shaved zucchini, sweet and sour cauliflower, and wild mushrooms. The “Sea and Raw” section showcases scallops, tuna tataki, and octopus. “Ossobuco del Mundo” introduces captivating items like braised Ossobuco pot pie, Ossobuco croquetas, Ossobuco gnocchi, and bone marrow with Ossobuco marmalade.

There is a “Global Selection” that presents choices like smoked chicken, a gourmet burger, or sweetbreads. However, the true highlight lies in offerings from the “Woodfire Grill”, featuring the impressive black Angus Tomahawk steak- perfect for sharing among up to four people. Their smaller cuts include a ribeye, picanha, beef tenderloin, and skirt steak, which cater to various preferences. Lamb chops, scallops, and a couple of fish entrees round out the diverse menu.

Accompanying the main course, you can order from the “Side Dish” section, ranging from a vibrant kale salad to street corn, Mac and cheese (not my favourite version), and irresistible truffle fries. A unique touch allows patrons to select their own knives, adding a playful element to the dinner.

To complete the journey they offer hand-crafted cocktails and boasts a decent wine selection. There are also a few desserts offered.

Ossobuco stands as another enticing option for those seeking to dine in the Wynwood area.

Happy dining,

Shanea
